17U National Teams to compete at the 2017 Pan American Championships

The 17U Men and Women’s National Team have arrived in Peru to compete at the 2017 17U Pan American Championships that will start July 1st. This tournament serves as a qualification for the 2018 FINA Youth World Championships. The Canadian Men’s and Women’s team have qualified for these 2017 Pan American Championships by finishing in 2nd and 3rd place respectively at the 2015 edition in Kingston, Jamaica.

The teams competing in the Men’s division will be divided in two groups. Canada will compete in Group B alongside Puerto Rico, Brazil and Peru. Group A is composed of the 2015 silver medalists the United States, Chile, Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago. The Canadian Men will start their tournament July 1st against Puerto Rico at 4:30 pm (Local time). The finals are scheduled to be played July 8th, 4:00 pm (Men’s Gold Medal Game).

The women’s division will showcase a total of seven teams that will compete in the same group. In the round-robin, Canada will start their tournament by facing Peru on July 2nd at 11:30 am. The Canadian women will also play against Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, Puerto Rico and Argentina in the preliminary round. Canada who finished 2nd in 2015, will look to get their revenge on the defending Champions, USA. The women’s gold medal game is scheduled on July 8 at 12:00 pm (Local).
