Blaire McDowell started playing water polo in 2012, at the age of 12, while she and her family were living in Australia where the sport is very popular. She already had a good base in swimming, specializing in breaststroke, for which she was ranked third in Canada when she was 12. Her mother was a triathlete before the sport of triathlon was added to the Olympic program and who made it into the top 10 in the world. The B.C. attacker played with Team Sask from Saskatchewan, and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University. Her goal in water polo includes experiencing the culture of the sport in different countries. It's one of the reasons why she played in the Spanish league and one of her best memories so far is living and playing in Tenerife. She also loves that the sport is so unique and attracts an interesting range of people. After her athletic career, she would like to travel, start a business, get really good at yoga and enjoy nature. Date of Birth: 08/09/2000 Hometown: Fernie, B.C.
