Water Polo Canada applauds the election of Tricia Smith as President of the Canadian Olympic Committee

(OTTAWA) — Water Polo Canada’s President, Conrad Hadubiak, along with members of the board and personnel of the national sport federation, wishes to warmly congratulate Tricia Smith on her November 22 election as the new President of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC).
“The Canadian Olympic Committee has truly been an invaluable partner of Water Polo Canada in the past and we look forward to working closely with Tricia Smith and her team in continuing to build upon this great relationship,” said Conrad Hadubiak.
Smith, a Vancouver-based lawyer, was voted in by Board members on Sunday, in Montreal, Quebec. High performance coach and lawyer Peter Lawless was also a candidate and will continue to serve the organization as vice president following Smith’s election.
“Tricia Smith has accumulated a tremendous experience working along various international organizations. Combined to her journey as a rowing Olympian and as a well-respected lawyer, and taking into consideration her outstanding integrity and professionalism, we find her to be extremely well-suited for this role,” said Hadubiak. “We know she will be a great asset and resource for all of us in the Canadian sport system,” he said.
